About the Role

This position is an excellent opportunity to join Atrium Health as a Radiation Therapist.

Job Summary

As a Radiation Therapist, you will be responsible for the optimal planning and treatment of radiation therapy patients with ionizing radiation, in accordance with the written directive of Radiation Oncologists, and under the direct supervision of the Chief Therapist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Treat patients with ionizing radiation, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor equipment parameters, document malfunctions, and understand emergency and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and treatment schedules.
  • Input treatment and simulation charge information into Aria.
  • Document patient treatment charts.
  • Understand emergency and fault procedures for linear accelerators and simulators.
  • Recognize and report patient concerns and physical problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Communicate instructions and procedures to patients and their families.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in the clinic.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent.
  • ARRT registered or registry eligible, with a requirement to pass the registry within the first 90 days of employment.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.
Physical Demands

This role requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch are required, as well as finger dexterity and critical thinking skills.
