Purpose & Scope:

The Clinical Technician II at VHC Health is an integral part of the healthcare team, working under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. This role involves performing a variety of routine duties, including direct patient care, observing patient status, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

The ideal candidate will be empathetic, possess good communication and nursing skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Equivalent experience is also accepted.

Experience:

Six months of experience as a Clinical Technician I or equivalent clinical experience is required. Completion or enrollment in a Clinical Technician II program or equivalent is also acceptable.


Certification/Licensure:
BLS certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

Patient Care:

The Clinical Technician II must be able to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee must also be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress associated with this position.

The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes, and are supplied by the hospital.


Working Conditions:

Patient Care:

The Clinical Technician II works in a well-lighted/ventilated office/clinical setting, subject to frequent interruptions. The employee may be required to work beyond normal working hours when requested to do so, e.g., overtime, on call.

Routine occupational exposure to infectious diseases, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, noxious odors, latex, and/or musculoskeletal injuries may occur.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform direct patient care and activities of daily living
  • Observe changes in patient status and provide a clean and safe environment
  • Transport patients and perform other related duties
