About the Role:

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP is seeking a skilled Legal Project Analyst to join our Client Value & Practice Management department. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Client Value Analytics and Competitive Intelligence and be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reporting on key performance metrics related to business processes, tools, and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on key financial data points, focusing on client relationships, revenue generation, write-offs reductions, and profitability.
  • Assist in the analysis and reporting related to business processes, such as the operational effectiveness of the write-off review and approval process.
  • Derive insights related to the effectiveness of firm tools to maximize value and adoption.
  • Collaborate in the development and production of compelling charts and dashboards to clearly illustrate financial analysis.
  • Write thoughtful communications summarizing trends, observations, and outliers.
  • Collaborate with other infrastructure teams on special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree required.
  • 3+ years of experience in client service-oriented roles, ideally with a background in financial analysis or a related business area.
  • Experience with legal accounting software such as Aderant, a plus.
  • Experience with Data Analytics, Transformation, and visualization tools such as Alteryx, Excel Power Query, Tableau, Power BI, a plus.
  • SQL Knowledge is desired – writing basic queries and navigating relational databases.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to quickly learn and utilize additional software and systems.
