Job Description

A challenging opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Senior Electrochemist to lead our team in the development of advanced zinc-manganese dioxide (Zn-MnO2) battery technology.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrochemistry and material science, with a proven track record of designing and optimizing battery cells for high-performance applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop full Zn-MnO2 battery cells, including cathode fabrication and testing
  • Extrapolate lab cell data to predict full cell performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies and materials into existing battery designs
  • Develop and implement novel methods for increasing the structural stability of MnO2 and reducing inert/non-cycling compounds in the anode and cathode
  • Optimize battery chemistry to reduce hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and corrosion, while improving cycle life and nominal voltage
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or related field, with at least 5 years of industry experience
  • Proven expertise in Zn-MnO2 battery development, with a focus on electrochemical engineering and materials science
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with pouch cell design and testing, as well as relevant machine learning models
Salary and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
