Key Responsibilities

As a District Sales Manager at US Foods, you will oversee a team of Territory Managers, guiding them in the sale of our products and services. Your expertise will help customers apply our offerings to their needs, driving revenue growth.

Leadership and Coaching

You will direct Territory Managers in closing deals, penetrating existing accounts, and acquiring new ones. Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to ensure profitable sales and case growth objectives are met.

Sales Planning and Execution

Develop and maintain sales plans, coaching Territory Managers in creating effective action plans to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and company goals. Direct them toward high-quality leads and assist in warming leads and closing deals.

Administrative and Support

Submit and administer the annual street sales operating plan and operating budget. Review and approve expenses, credits, donations, and contracts. Leverage the Sales Coordinator role to reduce administrative tasks and resolve issues.

Product and Customer Knowledge

Develop sales and marketing strategies and proposals for customers. Conduct market research to determine customer needs and provide information to sales staff. Communicate sales data to contribute to product/service planning.

Recruitment and Performance Management

Recruit, train, and mentor new hires and existing Territory Managers. Conduct field support sessions to observe coaching needs and support needs for TM development. Evaluate needs and recommend training as required. Oversee, manage, and assess TM performance to plan regularly.

Ensure the sales organization is appropriately staffed and managed to minimize turnover. Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and product developments that affect target markets. Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to prospective sales.

Research and develop lists of potential customers, making targeted sales calls to develop relationships and follow up on leads. Conduct periodic Customer Business Reviews to identify customer needs and relationship gaps.

Assist in customer/delivery alignment and driver engagement. Oversee the communication and execution of Company policies within the sales department.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales & Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. A minimum of five years of foodservice sales experience and two years of supervisory experience required. Valid driver's license required.

Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service and presentation abilities. Proficient computer skills, preferably in Microsoft Office products.

Valid driver's license required. Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law.

The expected base rate for this role is between $75,000.00 and $140,000.00. This role will also receive incentive compensation.
