Ready Mix Driver Job Description

County Ready Mix Corporation, a trusted supplier of ready-mix concrete in Central Wisconsin, is seeking a skilled Ready Mix Driver to join our team. As a Ready Mix Driver, you will be responsible for delivering ready mixed concrete to work sites daily, ensuring timely and safe transportation of materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver ready mixed concrete to work sites, adhering to strict safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance on the ready mix truck to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Use water hoses to clean the mixer between loads, ensuring a smooth and efficient delivery process.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to guarantee the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Visually inspect the consistency of concrete in the mixer to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Collect and return delivery tickets to the plant, maintaining accurate records.
  • Exercise sound judgment when accessing work sites, unloading, and operating the ready mix truck.
Work Environment
  • Work in various outdoor weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Work near moving machinery and equipment, requiring attention to safety protocols.
  • Operate the ready mix truck in close proximity to moving traffic on roads, necessitating vigilance.
Physical Demands
  • Lift objects of various dimensions and weights, with the ability to carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, reach, squat, push, and pull objects, as required.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and climbing, with occasional heavy lifting and bending.
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Class B or A CDL license with an air brake endorsement.
  • Maintain active DOT qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years prior driving experience required, with the ability to train drivers in Ready-Mix procedures.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
