Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Analyst to join our finance team. As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will play a critical role in handling state and local transactional tax filings and assisting with special projects as needed. You will be responsible for preparing domestic indirect tax compliance and reporting, including renditions, exemption filings, monthly accruals, and assisting with monthly filings. You will also oversee indirect tax rates, tax classification, and exemption documentation, and assist with indirect tax audits, including responding to audit queries and information requests. Additionally, you will maintain and fortify centralized tax calendars to ensure all filings, due dates, and payments are captured accordingly. You will also prepare tax-related journal entries, compile, prepare, and maintain monthly tax account reconciliations, and compile, research, and/or analyze various federal, state, and local tax issues. You will also help design and/or improve controls and current tax processes, and participate in special projects as assigned. You will work closely with the finance team to ensure compliance and the financial well-being of the company. You will be a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of the area of specialization, and will resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways. You will demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, and will network with senior internal and external personnel in your area of expertise. You will normally receive little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments. You will be an excellent researcher, with strong comprehension, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. You will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, and have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You will be able to prioritize, multi-task, and adhere to tight timelines, and will build and maintain solid work relationships with all levels of staff and management. You will have a minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience, and a bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent. You will be a team player, with a positive attitude, highly motivated to learn, and a desire to grow within the organization. You will be able to contribute to a team that will truly appreciate your dedication and hard work.
