Job Summary

This position is located at the Edwards AFB Veterinary Treatment Facility and is responsible for providing veterinary medical services to privately-owned animals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine animals, treat diseases and injuries, and conduct surgeries
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintaining legal medical health records
  • Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, and other body fluids for examination and diagnostic testing
  • Issue health certificates
  • Provide direction and oversight to Animal Health Assistants with regards to veterinary nursing skills, veterinary medical standards, and animal care
Requirements
  • Possess a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree
  • Possess a valid unrestricted state license to practice veterinary medicine
  • Official transcripts must be provided prior to time of hire
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and long periods of standing, restraining, kneeling, reaching, and sitting
Additional Information

This is a pay-banded position with a salary range of $43.12ph to $47.92ph. Sunday premium pay and night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Incentives and bonuses will not be paid. Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
