Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Staff Accountant to join our team at Ledgent Finance & Accounting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Financial Accounting: Prepare and verify financial statements, maintaining integrity of general ledger through application of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • General Ledger: Apply accounting principles to all transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Budget Analysis: Review and prepare budget-to-actual variance analysis reports for assigned communities.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform various reconciliations of accounts and financial analysis as assigned.
  • Financial Statement Review: Review monthly balance sheet and profile-and-loss statements for accuracy.
  • Closing and Reporting: Assist in coordinating monthly closing and production of statements to ensure timely reporting.
  • Statutory Reports: Prepare required statutory and other appropriate reports as assigned.
  • Procedures Review: Assist in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures.
  • Supporting Schedules: Review supporting subsidiary schedules to ensure company's accounting practices are being maintained.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with external audit preparation as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Financial Software: Proficiency in financial accounting software and MS Excel.
  • Financial Analysis: Experience in preparing financial statements and analyzing financial data.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Accounting Principles: Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Independence and Deadlines: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

Compensation: PAY DOE 70K to 75K
