At Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and dignified care to individuals experiencing homelessness. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care.
With over 10,000 homeless individuals cared for each year, we strive to break down barriers and provide accessible health care services. Our team of clinicians, case managers, and behavioral health professionals work together to address the unique needs of our community's most vulnerable citizens.
As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will provide nursing support for respite patients throughout our program. Our worksites include Boston Medical and Health Center and South Boston Health Center, both providing a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities of the Nurse Care Specialist include:
- Providing direct nursing care to patients, ensuring their needs are met in accordance with respite policies and procedures.
- Conducting accurate assessments and documentation, reporting to relevant personnel as needed.
- Administering medications and treatments, documenting appropriately and observing for adverse reactions.
- Maintaining accurate treatment records, flow sheets, and vaccine administration.
- Participating in new patient rounds, team rounds, and other team meetings as required.
- Ensuring confidentiality and maintaining professional standards in recording and reporting.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably with an underserved population.
- Hold valid CPR/BLS certification.
We encourage bilingual Spanish and English candidates to apply and offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. If you are passionate about providing compassionate care to those in need, please consider joining our team.
