Your Role as Project Scheduler

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules to support construction and engineering activities in the field. This involves collaborating with project teams to create detailed project plans, monitor progress against milestones, and identify schedule risks and opportunities.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing detailed project plans and schedules in collaboration with project managers, engineers, and contractors.
  • Monitoring progress against project schedules and milestones and identifying schedule variances and risks.
  • Analyzing schedule impacts of changes to project scope, resources, or priorities and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Preparing schedule reports and presentations to communicate schedule status and performance to project stakeholders.
  • Providing recommendations to optimize project schedules, including resource leveling, critical path analysis, and schedule compression.
  • Coordinating with project teams to resolve schedule-related issues and conflicts.
  • Participating in project meetings and reviews to provide schedule updates and recommendations.
  • Mentoring and training junior planners/schedulers on scheduling best practices and techniques.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's or master's degree in Construction Science, Building Science, or advanced coursework is highly preferred.
  • No certification is required for this position.
  • At least 5 years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control, and estimating.
  • Prior experience working as a project planner/scheduler or project controls specialist in the construction or engineering industry is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and techniques, including schedule development, resource management, and risk analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $90,000-$110,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
