K9 Explosive Detection Specialist

Constellis is seeking a highly skilled K9 Explosive Detection Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for screening cargo in compliance with TSA rules and regulations. This role requires a minimum of 4-8 weeks of team training and certification prior to mobilization to the assigned location. The pay rate for this position is $26-$28 per hour, while the training rate is $15 per hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a K9 Explosive Detection Specialist, you will participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify explosive threats. You will also conduct authorized representative duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed. Additionally, you will be responsible for commanding a trained explosive working dog and maintaining training records. You will also be responsible for the care and maintenance of the assigned canine, which must be permitted to live inside your residence. The residence must be adequate, indoor, and climate-controlled for the canine. The canine living area at your residence is subject to reoccurring inspections. You must also maintain all job-related certifications and required security clearances. You will be required to operate a company vehicle during on-site training. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. You must have one to two years of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational environment. You must also be able to obtain a Known Traveler Number (KTN) within four to six weeks of employment. You must be able to obtain a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge within four to six weeks of employment. You must also be able to obtain a Security Threat Assessment (STA) for Airport Badge within four to six weeks of employment. You must have adequate transportation to transport the assigned canine and crate to/from the assigned work location. The transportation must have operational climate control. You must also be able to pass the applicable Contract Testing and Certifications for the program within four to six weeks of employment. You must maintain the certification requirements. You must have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record for the last three years. You must have effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization. You must also have strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion. You must have problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process. You must be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. You must be able to lift and carry various items weighing up to 100 lbs. You will be required to stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions. You will also be required to sit, walk, run, climb, squat, stretch, bend, and kneel intermittently. You will be required to use your hands and fingers constantly to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with your hands and arms constantly.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work conditions can vary from a busy training environment to field work, both subject to frequent interruptions. You will be required to work outside and in inclement weather conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity. You may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. You will be required to work nights, weekends, and holiday hours, and your work schedule will vary. Travel may also be required.
