Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team at Westside Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment: Conduct thorough and accurate multi-system assessments of patients, identifying any deviations from normal and reassessing patients throughout their hospital stay.
  • Planning: Develop individualized nursing plans of care, taking into account the patient's developmental needs and coordinating care activities with other hospital and clinic departments.
  • Implementation: Initiate appropriate measures based on protocol for the management of medical and surgical patients, accurately documenting care in the electronic medical record and utilizing a multidisciplinary approach when necessary.
  • Evaluation: Evaluate assessment methods, plans of care, and patient responses to treatment, participating in unit quality assurance activities.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience, with one (1) year of current ED experience or successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente New Grad Internship Program in the ED.
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • License, Certification, Registration: Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire, Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided), NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Additional Requirements
  • Computer keyboarding skills.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
  • CEN preferred.
