Job SummaryThis is a challenging opportunity to lead the SBX-1 Radar Mission Integration program as a Mission Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for deconflicting satellites and space corridors, coordinating with the Federal Aviation Administration, and ensuring transitions to and from test and operational baseline configurations. The Mission Director will also support the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Operational Schedule and Weekly Activity Message preparation, integrating relevant radar operations and radar maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
• Deconflict satellites and space corridors with the Unified Space Vault and coordinate with the Federal Aviation Administration to establish Notice to Airmen for Radiation Hazard keep out zones.
• Work in close concert with the Missile Defense Agency, the 100th Brigade, and the 49th Battalion to execute test procedures detailed in the Integrated Master Test Plan.
• Ensure transitions to and from test and operational baseline configurations as required.
• Support the BMDS Operational Schedule and Weekly Activity Message preparation, integrating relevant radar operations and radar maintenance activities.
• Coordinate platform system maintenance that has the potential of impacting radar performance and ensure that recovery times can be met for the appropriate Readiness Condition.
• Conduct operational reporting in accordance with PACFLT OPORD 201 and directly communicate with Warfighters, government agencies, and test organizations via radio, telephone, message, email, or chat.
• Synergize SBX-1 payloads in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System mission execution of both test and real-world contingency operations, maintenance planning and authorization, vessel movements, shipyard planning, crew rotation scheduling, material movements, and test event coordination.
• Establish and maintain contact with Government agencies to integrate, facilitate, and de-conflict vessel movements, satellite availability, asset status, increase in Readiness Condition, and areas of operation.
• Coordinate SBX-1 radar operations, de-conflicting operations, obtaining permissions, executing checklists, coordinating safety precautions, vessel conditions, monitoring radar operations, and returning to normal vessel operations.
• Participate in test event planning, dynamic vessel positioning, coordinating test schedules, preparing inputs for test plans, reviewing test plans and procedures, conducting test events, processing of test event personnel and equipment, and preparing formal reports.
Qualifications
• 10 years of experience working in an Operational Environment supporting military missions.
• Active SECRET clearance.
• Experience deconflicting schedules in a complex operating environment and many different organizations.
• Excellent written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage competing priorities is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team.
• Leadership and mentoring experience with proven results.
• Experience working in a maritime environment.
Physical Requirements
• Must not be hindered by motion sickness and must pass/maintain Maritime Medical Exam IAW CENTCOM Mod 15 requirements.
• Must be able to balance, bend, lift up to 35 pounds, crouch, stretch, and kneel.
• Must be able to climb up to 10 flights of stairs regularly.
• Cannot be afraid of confined spaces.
• Cannot be afraid of heights.
