We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacture of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA)/circuit card assembly (CCA) and the associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures for one of our combat vehicle systems.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will be co-located with assigned suppliers to ensure an ongoing high-level of production quality is met for an Aerospace and Defense leader in Dayton, OH. This is an initial 12-month contract-to-hire opportunity offering $45- $48 per hour to well-qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with one or more of our electronics suppliers to provide electrical engineering support in the manufacture of printed circuit board assembly (PCBA)/circuit card assembly (CCA) and the associated system Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) enclosures.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and support the resolution of supplier quality problems by conducting defect investigations, analyzing defect trends, and leading continuous improvement projects.
  • Strong communication skills are required to ensure suppliers understand requirements and expectations; make progress reports and present findings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Related Technical Discipline.
  • US Citizenship.
  • Effective, practical problem solver using structured problem-solving methods and systems.
  • Understanding of technical drawing requirements with the ability to determine compliance.
  • Computer skills include MS Office Suite and related industry software applications.
  • Effective, clear communicator with strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Design of PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries.
  • Working knowledge of MIL-PRF-31032, MIL-PRF-55110, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620.
  • Fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries.
  • Production line validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of fabricated products.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System, AS9102C First Article Requirements, AS9145 APQP/PPAP Requirements, and Source Inspection.
  • Low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management.
  • Servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and test experience.
  • Working knowledge of design for environmental qualification including EMI/EMC design and qualification principles.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant function and industry.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with IPC-A-600, IPC J-STD-001.
  • Exposure to Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventative Actions.
Desired:
  • Certification to IPC-A-600.
  • Experience with the design of PCBA/CCA for aerospace or defense industries.
  • Experience with fabrication processes, equipment, test, and instrumentation common in the Aerospace and Defense Industries.
  • Experience with production line validation, test, equipment, instrumentation, and qualification of fabricated products.
  • Exposure to ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems and AS9102B First Article Requirements or comparable industry standards.
  • Experience with Low voltage (28Vdc) and/or high voltage (610Vdc) electrical power distribution and management.
  • Experience with Servo amplifier design, manufacturing, and test experience.
