University of New Mexico Hospitals is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outpatient Nursing Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced registered nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our ambulatory setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients' conditions, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identify potential risks and complications, and develop tailored care plans to address their unique requirements.
  • Clinical Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, promote a culture of excellence and safety, and contribute to the development of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Patient Education and Support: Empower patients and their families by providing clear explanations of treatments, medications, and self-care strategies, addressing concerns and promoting healthy behaviors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective relationships with interdisciplinary teams, engage in open communication, and participate in regular meetings to discuss patient progress and share best practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A valid RN license in the state of New Mexico or eligibility for reciprocal licensure.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a registered nurse in a similar setting.
  • Excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly desirable.

In exchange for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of $$80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.
