Rincon Research Corporation, a pioneering force in digital signal processing (DSP), is seeking an accomplished Sr. Software Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary R&D team.

This challenging position offers the opportunity to leverage your expertise in software design and development to create cutting-edge solutions for the US Defense and Intelligence Communities.

Located in our Chantilly, VA office, this role provides a unique chance to collaborate with fellow electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who share your passion for innovation and problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement software systems, working closely with hardware product development teams.
  • Design and develop software products for various applications, applying computer science and engineering principles.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements.
  • Communicate technical information effectively within and outside the organization.

Requirements:

  • A valid Active TS/SCI Security Clearance (US citizenship required).
  • A BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with software design principles, industry best practices, and design trends.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in written and oral reports.
  • Experience with large software code bases and ability to quickly grasp new technologies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Full-stack development experience.
  • Familiarity with AWS services and application of best practices related to security and scalability.
  • Experience developing web applications with Vue or REACT.
  • Familiarity with GitLab, GitHub, or other revision control systems.
  • REST API design.
  • 2+ years' experience with Python, C, or C++ programming languages.

Compensation:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, Rincon Research Corporation offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 100% employer-paid premiums for family medical and dental insurance, employee life insurance, short-term and long-term disability (STD & LTD). You will also participate in the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401(k) Plan, with immediate vesting and employer contributions.
