Job Overview: General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an experienced DevOps Cloud Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering simple solutions to complex problems, ensuring system security, and executing best practices and procedures.

About the Job:
As a DevOps Cloud Engineer, you will manage distributed and managed services, automate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services, manage system tuning for reliability and efficiency, guide and manage software releases for new features, and support users through consolidation. You will also perform administrative operations of server hardware and software, ensure system security, troubleshoot system-related problems, and remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Distributed and managed services management
  • Automation of installation, configuration, and maintenance of platform services
  • System tuning for reliability and efficiency management
  • Software release management for new features
  • Support user consolidation

Required Skills and Qualifications:
* 8+ years of IT and/or software or related experience
* Bachelors degree or 4+ years of equivalent experience
* DOD 8570 IAT Level II required (Level III preferred)
* Experience with Kubernetes
* Participated in or led agile development teams
* In-depth understanding of Dev Ops methodologies
* Worked with Concourse, Spinnaker, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity or other Continuous Integration tools
* Experience in VMware vSphere / ESXi / NSX-T
* Experience with networking and related technologies (e.g., load balancing / DNS / SSL / firewalls / NAT / SDN)
* Experienced in using Git
* Release management experience
* Experience supporting production systems using Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
* Competent to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities
* Excellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact; effective listening skills and follow-through
* Solid work ethic and the ability to work in a mission-critical environment
* Detail-oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
* Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers with less experience

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000.
