Job Summary

As a Dietetic Technician at Mindlance, you will provide nutrition care services to patients and clients to address prevention and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and conditions. You will work in conjunction with registered dietitian nutritionists to promote overall health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete nutrition assessments of patients within the scope of practice of a Dietetic Technician-Registered.
  • Implement and monitor nutritional interventions assigned by the RDN to meet the nutritional needs of patients.
  • Estimate nutritional intakes of patients and calculate and document calorie counts as requested.
  • Identify patients in need of in-depth assessment by the RD and transfer care appropriately.
  • Provide nutrition and lactation education to patients and families.
  • Prepare, portion, and deliver patient enteral feeding orders accurately and timely.
  • Participate in ongoing quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to patients and families, public, medical staff, and physicians.
  • Basic knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy in pediatric patients.
  • Basic knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
  • Competence in nutritional content, sources, and use of commercial supplements, tube feedings, human milk, infant formulas, and feeding modulars.
  • Ability to perform increasingly complex mathematical calculations.
  • Computer proficiency required.
