Job Summary

The Admitting Registrar/Patient Admissions Specialist is responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient registration process. This role involves greeting and registering patients, obtaining necessary information, and verifying insurance coverage. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating patient flow, managing paperwork, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information
  • Coordinate patient flow and manage paperwork
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous hospital experience preferred
  • Registration experience in a medical setting (physician office, hospital) strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medical health insurances
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (EPIC preferred)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $39,923.72-$59,885.48 based on industry standards and market conditions.
