Respiratory Therapist

Evaluate and administer respiratory therapy treatments to patients with heart and lung abnormalities in a hospital setting. Set up and monitor complex respiratory equipment, perform routine treatments, and monitor patients for adverse reactions. Determine the effectiveness of therapy and make recommendations to physicians. Provide resuscitation services, participate in orientations, and maintain skill levels in respiratory care procedures.
Responsibilities:
Perform respiratory patient care, including aerosol therapy, ABGs, ETTs, bronchus, ECGs, CPT, vent care, and CPAP/BIPAP therapy.
Continuously evaluate and assess cardiopulmonary conditions using data from physical examination, respiratory monitoring, and diagnostic equipment.
Document all work activity in applicable computer systems, including billing charges, in accordance with department-specific processes.
Requirements:
Graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy and one year of recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care.
License to practice as a respiratory care practitioner through the Washington State Department of Health required.
Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board of Respiratory Care required.
Current healthcare provider BLS Certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within six months of date of hire.
Work Environment:
This job exists in multiple locations, and while there may be minor differences in job content, they are not significant for classification purposes. Overall, the nature of the work and job requirements is consistent between locations.
