About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team in a residential young adult mental health program. The ideal candidate is passionate about mental health care and has experience working with young adults in a residential or behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct Nursing Care: Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, health assessments, and management of medical conditions.
  • Care Planning: Collaborate with the clinical team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Resident Monitoring: Monitor the physical and mental health of residents, identifying any changes in condition and responding appropriately.
  • Group Facilitation: Facilitate groups and individual sessions for residents on wellness and self-care practices.
  • Crisis Intervention: Assist in crisis intervention and provide support during psychiatric emergencies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of medical records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Maine State License as Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
  • Experience in mental health, behavioral health, or residential care settings preferred
  • The ability to emotionally and professionally handle charged emotional situations
  • The ability to function independently when needed, as the sole medical personnel on staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in working with young adults experiencing mental health challenges
  • CPR and First Aid certification required

Cornerstones of Maine is a small residential treatment program designed to assist young adults (ages 18 to 28) in their journey to adulthood. We address the current need for therapeutic services for young adults who have significant potential but are struggling with mental health issues that are obstacles to their ability to live independently.
