School Age Services Group Leader

This part-time position is an exciting opportunity to support the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
As a School Age Group Leader, you will play a vital role in implementing activities and executing daily lesson plans for the School Age Before and After School sites and Summer Programs.
Working under the direction of the School Age Site Director, you will foster children's social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth, creating a positive and supportive environment that encourages learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model the YMCA's core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility
- Set up and take down program space to create a child-friendly environment
- Lead and engage a group of 15 to 20 children in activities outlined by the Site Director
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and fellow YMCA staff
- Assist in planning and implementing a quality curriculum that meets YMCA guidelines
- Attend all staff meetings and in-service training as required
- Monitor licensing standards at the School Age site
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Passion for working with children and commitment to the YMCA's mission
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 18 years of age
- Certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant/Pediatric) within 30 days of hire
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Flexible work schedule required; split shifts may vary per site
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions and some chemical elements
Estimated Salary: $$12.50 - $15.00 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications.
