We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate mental health specialist to join our team at UNC Health. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations to determine diagnoses and treatment plans in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes for patients.
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy based on best practices and evidence-based approaches.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and support for clients.
  • Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health, treatment options, and coping strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulations and ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution.
  • Current board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license in the state of practice.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical psychiatry, including medication management and therapy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical guidelines in all patient interactions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
