About the Role:
The Nursing Assistant is a vital member of our healthcare team, providing exceptional patient care and support in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist professional nurses in delivering patient care, including transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies.
- Provide basic patient care, including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, oral hygiene, specimen collection, and positioning/ambulating patients.
- Accurately take and record vital signs, input/output, and other patient data.
- Report unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner and assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients.
- Orient patients and their families to the environment and ensure their belongings are accounted for.
- Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies, and assure patients get to appointments on time.
Requirements:
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
- One or more of the following: successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program, six months of recent direct care experience, current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
