We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Credentialing Specialist to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our Medical Staff Administration Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of credentialing and privileging applications for medical staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze credentialing and privileging applications to ensure compliance with organizational policies and accrediting standards.
- Verify education, training, clinical experience, peer references, current licensure and certification, and malpractice history through primary sources.
- Ensure that credentials meet criteria set forth in the Medical Staff Bylaws as well as accrediting standards and regulations.
- Act as a mentor to other credentialing specialists and provide support and assistance within the department as needed.
- Represent the department on the Credentials Committee and provide effective resolution and follow-up to identified issues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Current NAMSS certification as CPCS and/or CPMSM.
- Advanced knowledge of Joint Commission, CMS Conditions of Participation, and NCQA and Title 22 accreditation standards and regulations.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the field with expertise in specific areas, including credentialing, privileging, formulating strategies, and administering policies and processes.
