Accounting Operations Manager for Central Region

The Accounting Operations Manager is responsible for managing all accounting operations outside of job cost for the Central Region. This involves mastering and effectively managing underlying accounting processes for various segments of the business unit. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong leadership skills and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Month-end Close
- Ensure timely completion of accounting deadlines and cut-off procedures, including Plant Reporting and Asset in Process Reporting.
- Properly account for material transfers from plant to job.
- Payroll
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of union payroll timesheets.
- Manage the Payroll Clerk to guarantee compliance with state, federal, and local mandates, preventing payment withholding due to non-compliance and penalties.
- Maintain control over the LCP tracker and provide training to team members as needed.
- Accounts Payable and Accruals
- Promptly enter Accounts Payable invoices accurately.
- Maintain correct accrual processes through matching of receipts against purchase orders and reconciliation of committed costs.
- Address vendor billing disputes efficiently.
- Resolve AP invoices on hold promptly.
- Enter accruals in a timely manner.
- Prioritize payment for critical vendors.
- Collections
- Oversee collection efforts to minimize past-due Materials-related Accounts Receivables and Contract-related Accounts Receivables as needed.
- Supervisory
- Develop and oversee a team to support accounting functions for the Region.
- Provide guidance and training to support staff, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and the Region Manager.
- Implement and monitor overall regional accounting processes and documentation.
- Foster continuous improvement in department efficiency and processes.
- Plant Accounting
- Oversee inventory reporting and collaborate with the Plant Superintendent for accurate monthly inventory reporting.
- Ensure proper internal transfer rates for materials from Plants to Jobs.
- Verify correct billing rates and quantities for external customers.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for all facilities.
- Facility Management
- Oversee Griffith-owned/rented facilities.
- E nsure sufficient supplies are available at all times.
- Maintain facilities to corporate standards.
- Secure facilities properly.
- Office Management
- Oversee the receptionist.
- Coordinate and plan office events as needed, such as lunch meetings and holiday parties.
