Trauma Therapist

The Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a skilled Therapist to join our team in providing high-quality mental health services to survivors of trauma. As a Therapist, you will work closely with clients to assess their needs, develop treatment plans, and provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide trauma-informed counseling services to clients, including individual, group, and family therapy sessions
• Assess client needs and develop treatment plans to address their mental health and well-being
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
• Document client progress and maintain accurate records
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in trauma-informed care

Requirements:

• Master's degree in clinical or counseling psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, nursing, or a related behavioral science field
• Current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist in the State of Maryland
• 2 years of experience providing trauma-informed counseling services
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with diverse populations, including children and families
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and practices
• Ability to speak multiple languages, including Spanish
