Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

ASR Group, the world's largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Crockett, CA refinery.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will provide overall supervision to the activities of the assigned craft personnel in the coordinating, planning, scheduling, and performance of major repair work in the refinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision, motivation, and training of the mechanical personnel within the area of assignment.
  • Responsible for the productivity of personnel in regards to timeliness in diagnosing and completing necessary maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the current preventive maintenance program to minimize plant breakdowns due to failure of systems and update inspections and frequencies to best meet the goal of 100% reliability.
  • Participate in the planning and scheduling of work to be done by either plant personnel or outside contractors and is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of the work.
  • Maintain good labor relations, morale, and discipline in shop and initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Support all other maintenance shops as required, including successful completion of daily tasks and vacation relief of other maintenance supervisors.
  • Work with the storeroom personnel to ensure maintenance materials inventory is accurate and available.
  • Ensure personnel follow all GMP and safety policies.
  • Work with accountability groups to accomplish Key Results and 5S strategy.
Requirements:
  • 5 years supervisory experience on a maintenance team in a similar refinery or manufacturing operation required.
  • 10 years electrical and instrumentation experience in an industrial setting.
  • Mechanical knowledge is required, with electrical knowledge a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train employees in a team-based environment.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods and ability to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Scheduling, planning, or similar inventory and PM program a plus but not required.
  • Some CMMS platform (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar) required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead, supervise, and make decisions.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, if appropriate.
  • Industrial food processing experience preferred.
Education Requirements:

4-year degree or equivalent experience.

Essential Capabilities:
  • Demonstrated experience and skills with plant maintenance, food safety, and GMP, problem-solving, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP.

The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 to $149,000.00, depending on the candidate's qualifications and prior experience.
