Responsibilities
- Responsible for emergency patient transfer coordination and communications for the UT Health East Texas System.
- Coordinators will work with Emergency Department, EMS, AirOne, Medical Staff, and any referring hospitals to accomplish a rapid and efficient transfer.
- This entails effective communication with the Medical Staff and all ancillary Emergency Service Staff in promoting safe and appropriate transfer acceptance and delivery.
- Personnel will coordinate Rapid Response Code Activations, including Trauma, STEMI, Code Stroke, and the Radiology Team.
- Personnel will also coordinate for Emergency Safety and activate for Disaster Preparedness in compliance with the Safety Policy and Procedure.
- Personnel will maintain and verify the Physician On-Call Active listing for referral and Hospital distribution.
- Personnel will understand and support the UT Health East Texas Mission, Vision, and Values and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Some overtime and call-back may be required.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelors of Nursing
- Current TX RN License
- BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) CERTIFIED
