The Chief Risk & Resiliency Officer plays a pivotal role in our organization by overseeing:

Executive Leadership and Strategy
  • Providing strategic direction across the first line of defense, focusing on Non-Financial Risk Management and Operational Resiliency through the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Engaging with the Board of Directors, Risk and Operating Committees, internal Executive Leadership, and external regulatory bodies on risk and resiliency matters.
  • Participating in key committees to offer insights and guidance on risk and resiliency issues.
Risk Identification and Assessment
  • Conducting regular risk assessments across business functions to identify potential risks related to operations, compliance, financial performance, reputation, and strategic objectives.
  • Analyzing risk likelihood and impact to prioritize critical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Utilizing data analytics and key risk indicators (KRIs) to monitor emerging risks and trends.
Risk Mitigation and Control Implementation
  • Developing and implementing effective controls to manage identified risks within risk appetite.
  • Partnering with the Chief Control Officer and business unit and corporate group control teams to ensure controls are well-documented, communicated, and regularly tested for effectiveness.
  • Working with senior leaders to embed risk management practices into daily operations and decision-making processes.
Resiliency Planning and Response
  • Developing and maintaining business continuity plans (BCP) and disaster recovery strategies to minimize disruption from potential disruptions.
  • Conducting scenario-based exercises to assess resilience capabilities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinating incident response activities during crisis situations, ensuring effective communication and decision-making.
Stakeholder Management, Reporting and Communication
  • Collaborating with other departments, including compliance, internal audit, and second-line defense, to ensure alignment on risk management practices.
  • Regularly reporting status on risk, resiliency, and mitigation progress to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Fostering a culture of open communication and risk awareness within the business unit.
  • Escalating critical risks and emerging issues requiring immediate attention to appropriate governance committees and executive leadership.
Culture and Awareness
  • Promoting a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management and resiliency planning across the enterprise.
  • Fostering an environment where all employees understand their role in managing risk and feel comfortable raising issues and concerns.
  • Providing training and guidance to employees on internal principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of risk management strategies and initiatives to enhance organizational resilience and sustainability.
