The Transmission Line Department within our Transmission & Distribution division seeks an exceptional Senior Project Engineer to join our Akron, Columbus, and St. Louis offices. This role demands technical leadership, as you'll guide a team responsible for designing complex transmission line projects. Expect to be a key figure in departmental decision-making and project execution.

This challenging position involves:
  1. Providing technical expertise and support to a high-performing overhead transmission design team.
  2. Mentoring and developing team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
  3. Serving as primary client contact, ensuring seamless communication and satisfaction.
  4. Implementing quality control processes and managing project deliverables.
  5. Participating in project planning, including schedule development, resource allocation, and budgeting.
  6. Effectively communicating project requirements and changes across disciplines.
  7. Identifying and mitigating technical risks associated with projects.
  8. Oversight of production work to meet project milestones.
  9. Developing and promoting processes to increase efficiency within the team and department.
  10. Applying expert knowledge of transmission concepts, practices, codes, and procedures.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:
  1. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
  2. 7 years of experience in transmission line design, or equivalent with a Master's degree in a related field.
  3. A Professional Engineering license (PE).
  4. Proven ability to lead project teams, manage tasks, and resolve conflicts.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Experience with scheduling and budgeting tools.
  8. Proficiency in PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE software.
