Diesel Technician Position

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team at Sunroad Automotive in Kearny Mesa, San Diego. This is a non-exempt position that requires a strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and components for our fleet of trucks and other vehicles. As a Diesel Technician, you will need to have excellent customer service skills as you will be client-facing and working on their vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Diesel Engine Repair: Diagnose and repair diesel engines and other related components, including pistons, rings, bearings, seals, and valves.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose engine performance issues using special tools such as timing lights, compression testers, and scan tools.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and tune-ups on diesel engines to ensure optimal performance.
- Component Replacement: Replace and repair worn parts and components, including fuel injectors, fuel lines, and fuel pumps.
- Vehicle Inspection: Inspect and test vehicle electrical and electronic systems to identify any potential issues.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
- Diesel Engine Experience: At least one year of experience working on diesel engines is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required, with the ability to obtain a California driver's license within 30 days.
- Physical Demands: The ability to regularly lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds is required for this position.
