About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Ambulatory Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist at Mass General Brigham. We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to provide high-quality patient care in our ambulatory setting.

Job Summary

The Senior Ambulatory Cardiovascular Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing telephone triage for patients with implanted cardiac devices, including conveying plans of care, handling patient medical concerns, and checking voice mail messages regularly throughout the day.

Responsibilities
  • Provide telephone triage for patients with implanted cardiac devices, including conveying plans of care and handling patient medical concerns.
  • Collaborate with Watkins Cardiology Access Center, Clinic, and Arrhythmia Services Ambulatory RN for cross-training and coverage as needed.
  • Communicate with patients via electronic health information exchange Patient Gateway/MyChart, phone, fax, mail, and email as necessary.
  • Gather patient data and follow up on requests/review consults with MD/NP to develop care plan.
  • Communicate with providers using SBAR methodology: Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation.
  • Complete post-hospital discharge phone calls including medication reconciliation.
  • Educate patients and family regarding cardiovascular/arrhythmia disease and management to patients telephonically and in the ambulatory setting.
  • Assist with management and maintenance of the remote monitoring program (Carelink, Latitude, Merlin, Biotronik).
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing with current registration in Massachusetts.
  • Minimum 5 years current RN experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience in an ambulatory setting with demonstrated telephone triage experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience caring for a cardiology focused patient population required.
Working Conditions

This position works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents, radioisotopes, and radiation.

Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $115,000 per year, based on experience.
