Join Our Team of Maritime Experts

We are seeking a highly skilled Ports and Maritime Structural Engineer to join our team of over 550 maritime experts at Jacobs. As a key member of our global team, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and delivery of projects ranging from local waterfront projects to large-scale port developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to our teams on critical projects
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and inclusion
  • Lead or assist in the preparation of structural calculations/designs, contract drawings and specifications, field inspections, engineering reports, and construction field reports
  • Work with clients and subconsultants and give technical presentations as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university or college
  • CA Professional Engineer License (or the ability to obtain one within one year)
  • 5 or more years progressive experience as a Structural Engineer in the design of marine structures and/or bridges
  • Working knowledge of building codes and standards (ASCE 7, ACI, AISC and AASHTO) as it relates to the design of marine structures and bridges

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural Engineering
  • Experience in designing and rehabilitating marine structures and bridges
  • Experience with project quantities and cost estimation
  • Experience in working with port authorities, private terminal companies and Caltrans
