Gastroenterology Physician Opportunity in Mason City, IA

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center and the Mason City Clinic have an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join a busy practice located in Mason City, Iowa.
This sought-after position offers an excellent quality of life, team camaraderie, and a community of friendly neighbors. The gastroenterology department is seeking two additional physicians to join a well-established practice consisting of one physician and one APP.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evaluating patients by reviewing health history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting laboratory reports to determine diagnosis.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans and providing patient education.
- Performing surgical procedures with a focus on patient care and comfort.
- Evaluating hospitalized patients during preop and postop periods, monitoring progress, and releasing patients from hospital care as needed.
- Recognizing abnormal patient responses to treatment and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Documenting all aspects of care provided, including completing necessary paperwork for payment.
- Participating in call coverage as assigned.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field through ongoing education and professional development.
