Nursing Department Manager Position

This position is for a highly skilled Nursing House Supervisor at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. The successful candidate will oversee the overall operations and implementation of activities for inpatient and emergency care at SRMC.
CompensationThe estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, benefits include sign-on bonuses and relocation reimbursement opportunities.
Job DescriptionAs a key member of our team, the Nursing House Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Ensuring Optimal Patient Care: Oversee the delivery of safe and effective patient care, including fiscal management, standards compliance, clinical practice, staff development, and performance improvement activities.
- Supervising Staff: Regularly direct the work of two or more employees, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Collaborating with Teams: Work closely with physicians, patient care areas, and other departments to facilitate appropriate patient placement and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A minimum of 3 years directly related experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate certification.
- Basic Arrhythmia Certification within 1 year, PALS certification within 6 months, RN licensure in NM or reciprocal agreement, CPR/BLS certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification within 6 months, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within 6 months.

Working ConditionsThis position involves working in a fast-paced environment with frequent new and varied work situations. Physical demands are medium to high, requiring the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently. Working conditions may involve exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, odors, bad weather, and noise.
