This position is located at a Specialty Care Clinic at Fort Drum, NY, and is part of the Defense Health Agency Civilian Corps.
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team. The selected candidate will perform complex testing in a clinical laboratory setting, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, and conduct quality control procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical laboratory science, chemistry, or microbiology, and possess a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification from a recognized organization such as the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT).
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation, and the selected candidate will be appointed to a position in the competitive service.

Responsibilities
The Medical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for:
- Performing complex testing in a clinical laboratory setting
- Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment
- Conducting quality control procedures
- Collecting and processing specimens
- Reporting test results and consulting with physicians on additional tests
- Developing and implementing quality control programs
- Providing training and education to laboratory personnel
The selected candidate will work closely with the Chief, Laboratory Services, to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory and to implement quality control programs.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:
- One year of specialized experience in a clinical laboratory setting
- Education: One full year of graduate-level education in a field directly related to the work of the position
- Combination of education and experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification from a recognized organization
