Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Alden Estates of Barrington. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to our residents, supervising nursing assistants, and ensuring the highest level of quality care is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Supervise and instruct nursing assistants on various topics to promote job knowledge and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Conduct daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel are performing required duties and procedures are being followed.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to stay current on best practices and industry developments.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Current, unencumbered license to practice as a LPN in the State of Illinois and/or Wisconsin.
  • Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain within two weeks of employment.
  • Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in an understandable manner.
  • Leadership and supervisory ability, with a willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

The Licensed Practical Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with residents, families, and healthcare team members. The position requires the ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, cope with mental and emotional stress, and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in challenging situations.
