Stroke Team Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Seeking a motivated and experienced Physician Assistant or Acute Care Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our Stroke & Neurointervention team as an inpatient APP.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our inpatient team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Treating ICU and surgical patients, attending emergent Stroke codes and floor patients.
- Responding to stroke codes during daytime hours to provide emergent care for suspected stroke patients.
- Reading neuro imaging including CT scans and MRI scans, interpreting necessary lab works.
The initial training period will consist of five 8-hour shifts, after which the schedule will transition to four 10-hour shifts.
Qualifications and RequirementsTo be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- PA: A graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA) is required. A BS or MS degree is preferred, as well as experience as a physician assistant and/or experience in a clinical setting.
- CRNP: The successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program is required. A BSN or MSN degree is preferred, as well as professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience.
Candidates must also possess a current state license and certification, as well as CPR certification and Act 34 clearance.
