Job Title: Vice President, Business Development

Job Summary:

Common Sense Media is seeking a highly skilled Vice President, Business Development to lead our revenue growth strategy. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping and driving our business development efforts, expanding revenue-generating partnerships, and spearheading growth marketing partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy, including setting targets, prioritizing emerging opportunities, defining our value proposition, and determining pricing.
  • Prospect, pitch, and secure new strategic business partners, overseeing the structuring, negotiation, and closing of deals that increase the distribution of Common Sense Media's brand and expertise.
  • Foster and cultivate strategic relationships across the media, technology, and education sectors, building and maintaining authentic relationships to ensure alignment and engagement with partners and prospects.
  • Create and execute growth marketing strategies and partnerships to drive brand awareness, attract new partners, and enhance user engagement.
  • Evaluate the financial and strategic impact of partnership terms and make recommendations to optimize ROI, providing insights and actionable recommendations on monetizing Common Sense Media's content.
  • Lead and develop the partnership management team, ensuring high performance and job satisfaction, and collaborate closely with the marketing team to drive membership subscriptions and align growth marketing efforts with business development goals.
  • Forecast and track BD and licensing revenue, setting quarterly and annual revenue goals in coordination with the CFO, and utilizing forecasting and partner management tools, including Salesforce, to track and analyze performance.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in sales, business development, and growth marketing.
  • Deep knowledge of the media, entertainment, and technology landscapes, including distribution and business models.
  • Proven success in growth marketing, with a strong focus on ROI and performance metrics.
  • Expertise in partnership management and relationship-driven business strategies.
  • Stellar presentation and communication skills, with a track record of leading relationships and closing deals.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic partnership management and the achievement of business development goals.
  • Strong fiscal management skills with a history of delivering results on a tight budget.
  • Be analytical, strategic, and metrics-oriented, with a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a passion for our mission and an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Proven supervisory skills and experience leading high-performing teams.
