Job Description:

Key Responsibilities: As a Speech Therapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome speech and language challenges. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and Implementing Therapy Plans: Work with students to identify their unique needs and develop personalized therapy plans that cater to their growth and development.
  • Collaborating with Teachers: Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure seamless integration of speech therapy into the curriculum, promoting a cohesive learning experience for students.
  • Providing Direct Support: Deliver individual and group therapy sessions, using evidence-based practices to help students achieve their goals.
  • Documenting Progress: Maintain accurate records of student progress, tracking milestones and celebrating successes along the way.
  • Staying Current: Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and regulatory requirements in speech-language pathology, ensuring your skills and knowledge remain at the forefront.

Requirements and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Education and Certification: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field, as well as a valid Assistant in Speech-Language Pathology license granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
  • Experience and Skills: Proven experience working with students with diverse needs, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge and Abilities: Familiarity with federal and state laws governing speech and language therapy services, as well as knowledge of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other relevant educational policies.
