Job Summary:

Meta is seeking a highly skilled Connectivity Engineer to join the Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) team. This role is responsible for providing site-level support to ensure the successful execution of DEC telecommunication projects, ensuring they meet the required quality standards, are completed on schedule, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Control - Develop, maintain, and report on site project and program scope, schedules, and milestones.
  • Work closely with the site project management team throughout the project lifecycle from creation to close-out.
  • Continuously review ongoing projects for opportunities to improve schedule, budget, and efficiency.
  • Document data points to assist with field coordination of projects.
  • Support the development of project management best practices and initiatives.
  • Coordinate lessons learned with the DEC Center of Excellence.
  • Forecasting - Support project controls with forecasting and budget efforts as required.
  • Share project status with stakeholders, ensuring seamless handoffs between teams.
  • Technical Reviews - Establish milestones for equipment purchase and track/report against them.
  • Aid in the selection and review of contractors for structured cabling work.
  • Metrics - Report progress and risks on site projects to key stakeholders.
  • Workflow - Collaborate with installation partners to establish and track milestones.
  • Conduct pre-project planning, project handoffs, and ensure design delivery and verification.
  • Identify and respond to project risks and high-priority issues effectively.
  • Track and manage project change order requests.
  • Vendor Field Management - Oversee all connectivity activities within construction projects, including tracking/reporting actual progress.
  • Set clear expectations with the site team and drive a culture of best practice and safe working environment.
  • Quality Assurance - Perform physical inspections to ensure vendor work meets DEC quality standards.
  • Validate physical installs, test reports, build accuracy, and material compliance.
  • Technical Field Lead - Lead industry and Meta standards, and responsible for product evaluation, design, and installation methods.
  • Technical Coordination - Develop solutions to in-field scope-gap or clash issues.
  • Communications & Cross-functional team engagement - Liaise with construction partners to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners, vendors, and suppliers for a smooth material flow.
  • Safety - Ensure vendors adhere to safety obligations and lead a 'safety first' culture.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in project management.
  • Experience engaging and guiding stakeholders.
  • Experience providing solutions to construction-related problems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and MS Project.
  • Experience reviewing and leading installations to design documents and specifications.
  • Data center development and/or construction management experience.
  • Experience with Primavera 6.
  • Experience managing IT or IP Network deployment projects.
  • Experience leading deployments of Network/Structure cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience with fiber optic testing at scale, including complex troubleshooting.
  • Experience with outside plant cabling (OSP) deployments.

Compensation:

$122,000/year to $169,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
