Job Summary

The Facility MaineHealth Medical Group is seeking a skilled Coding Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for reviewing professional encounter notes for accuracy, ensuring level of service coding, diagnostic coding, and other relevant compliance elements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and audit medical charts to ensure compliance with coding regulations
  • Provide education and training to physicians, APPs, and other supporting providers on coding and compliance best practices
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of coding policies and billing practices
  • Collaborate with the Operations Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Respond to coding inquiries from providers and others with precise and accurate results

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) certification required
  • Minimum 3 years' related experience
  • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • HCC/Risk Diagnostic Coding knowledge
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
