Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled substitute building nurse to provide essential care across all district schools, stepping in to cover regular nurse absences and ensuring students and staff are always well-cared for.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,034, based on a 7.25-hour shift schedule and an hourly rate of $28.95.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide health care needs for students throughout the school day, accurately documenting all care given.
  • Administer and record medication for students as ordered, properly documenting medication that is damaged or discarded.
  • Deliver emergency and episodic care according to school district policies and procedures.
  • Submit and route accident/injury reports for students requiring further evaluation/treatment.
  • Assist staff with work-related injuries and refer to proper contact for worker's compensation information.
Requirements
  • An active RN license from the State Board of Nursing.
  • Knowledge of diabetes, asthma, insulin pumps, nebulizer treatments, tube feedings, and wheelchair use and safety.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Effective communication skills to address concerns of students, parents, and staff in a sensitive manner.
