Cedar Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Intervential Radiology Nurse to join our team. This is a PRN position with after hours call.
Job Description:As a key member of our imaging services team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all IR procedures during their assigned shift, ensuring that Cedar Park Regional Medical Center's values are reflected in all aspects of department operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate assigned patients and plan, implement and document nursing care
- Perform various patient tests and administer medications as ordered by physicians, keeping within the scope of practice of the registered nurse
- Assist physicians during examination and procedures related to adult and pediatric radiology, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology (IR) and other special procedures cases
- Prepare required documentation and maintain appropriate internal records on patient care
- Promote patients independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand conditions, medications, and self-care skills
- May direct, monitor and/or evaluate care delegated to non-licensed personnel
- Assumes, under the direction of the Laboratory, responsibility for patient specimen testing, quality control, quality improvement, and equipment maintenance
- Performs a range of technical services in a cross-functional mode to comprehensively serve patient needs
- Communicates effectively and collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and accurate delivery of patient care
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Texas, or license with a compact state required upon hire
- American Heart Association (AHA) approved Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
- Minimum of three (3) years of adult and pediatric Interventional Radiology (IR) experience required
