Body Shop Estimator

As a Body Shop Estimator at Asbury Automotive Group, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving business growth. Your primary responsibility will be to appraise customer vehicles to determine the cost of repair for insurance claims or customer-paid repairs. You will work closely with insurance adjusters and customers to ensure a quality job while upholding customer satisfaction standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and examinations to determine the extent of structural, body, mechanical, or interior damage.
- Develop and prepare estimates by costing parts, supplies, labor, and calculating customer payments, including deductibles.
- Obtain insurance estimates by contacting insurance companies and resolving repair and replacement requirements.
- Prepare work orders by describing repair and replacement services required and obtaining approval signatures.
- Maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicles.
- Ensure high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks.
- Conduct spot checks of completed jobs for thoroughness and quality.
- Maintain body shop records by recording repair and replacement actions.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Enhance body shop reputation by providing excellent customer service.
Requirements
- Previous automotive experience preferred.
- Prior automotive estimating experience preferred.
- Automotive certifications or a bachelor's or associate's degree a plus.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must pass pre-employment screens (background and drug test).
