Senior Dental Hygiene Clinical Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Dental Hygiene Clinical Specialist to join our team at Remington College. In this role, you will provide clinical support and developmental feedback to students who provide patient care at the clinic.
The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in dentistry and at least three years of clinical dental practice experience. A background in educational methodology is preferred, as well as industry expertise through continuing education and journal readings.
Responsibilities include monitoring clinical services provided by students, ensuring they meet industry standards, and working with physicians to obtain clearance for providing dental services. You will also review patients' medical records, communicate dental care concepts, and provide dental screening services to the clinic's patients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures, and operate within state and federal statutes and regulations.
- Screen and review all patient medical histories before administering their dental hygiene services.
- Provide quality educational/learning support to students on key elements of dental care.
- Consult with physicians regarding medical conditions requiring clearance for dental hygiene treatment.
- Prescribe antibiotic prophylaxis medication(s) for the clinic's patients when medically indicated.
- Conduct preliminary oral assessments in conjunction with assessing patients' radiographic examination needs.
- Prescribe patient radiographs as indicated by patient need.
- Conduct cursory oral screening examinations for clinic patients.
- Evaluate suspicious lesions, anomalies, or other pathologies.
- Refer patients for dental care services as indicated.
- Prescribe dental sealants as indicated.
- Administer local anesthesia as required, or supervise the administration of local anesthesia by students.
- Provide dental services as a backup when needed.
- Attend to patients in the event of medical emergencies.
- Respond to issues from patients of record, in person or via phone.
- Complete Dental Hygiene program in-service activities as required.
- Attend and participate in Dental Hygiene department meetings and program functions.
- Coordinate and cooperate with faculty members to ensure the correlation and standardization of course content and clinical application.
- Perform clinical support functions as assigned or needed.
- Maintain professional and effective working relationships with all other Campus personnel.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a doctoral degree in dentistry.
- A minimum of three (3) years of clinical dental practice experience.
- A background in educational methodology preferred.
- Industry expertise through continuing education and journal readings.
- Dental licensure qualifications compliant with the State Board of Dentistry.
- Active professional membership and current CPR certification.
Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year based on location and experience.
