Health Sciences Librarian

The University Libraries at George Mason University seek a Health Sciences Librarian to join the Science and Technology Team. This is a full-time, hybrid-eligible position with a salary range of $65,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The Health Sciences Librarian will provide subject librarian expertise and support for students and faculty in the College of Public Health. Responsibilities include providing library research instruction, reference, and research consultations; developing collections to support the curricular and research needs of the schools and programs; and engaging in academic outreach.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program and experience collaborating with instructors to provide library instruction and research services. Knowledge of systematic reviews and electronic resources in health sciences is also required.
The University Libraries form an intellectual nexus for George Mason University, fostering innovation, creativity, and imagination by facilitating access to scholarship and information. The Learning, Research, and Engagement Division (LRE) of the University Libraries has primary responsibility for the spectrum of services and programs related to the outward-focused, direct engagement with undergraduate and graduate students and faculty pertaining to teaching, learning, and research.
The Science and Technology Team serves the College of Public Health, the College of Engineering and Computing, the Costello School of Business, and the College of Science, as well as several STEM-focused multi-disciplinary university-level institutes and centers. The Health Sciences Librarian will work closely with faculty from assigned departments to select, recommend, monitor, evaluate, and manage reference and research collections in the assigned disciplines.
The successful candidate will be able to build collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationships with people of varying backgrounds and perspectives. The position requires the ability to work in a team environment and to participate in the University Libraries' governance activities.
