Job Description

The Academy Director is a leadership position responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the Academy. This role involves overall operational management in accordance with well-established guidelines, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, and maintaining all OCFS Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a Quality Vision: Develop and maintain a quality vision for the center, ensuring adherence to quality standards in accordance with the vision and with state and local requirements.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop a general educational curriculum, collaborating with staff to develop positive learning activities, managing adherence to state and local regulations, and working closely with lead teachers and the administration to ensure a clear set of lessons and themes are followed in the classrooms.
  • Student Records: Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines.
  • Center Management: Manage the overall organization, flow, and parental interactions of the center, maintaining communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation and personal tours.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts, including corrective action when necessary, to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
  • Illness and Emergency Procedures: Establish illness and emergency procedures, ensuring staff is trained appropriately.
  • Strategic Planning: Implement a strategic plan and goals in keeping with the mission of the program.
  • Delegation: Delegation to Assistant Director and other team members will be required, ensuring that delegation is being completed fairly and equally amongst all levels of staff.
